Bus Trip to Pattemore House Maleny
Pattemore House - Maleny Bus Trip Friday 16 September 2016
A beautiful sunny day as we headed up the highway to Maleny. We arrived at "Fairview” (Pattemore House) in time for a lovely morning tea in the gardens and on the verandah with the resident carpet snake ‘Heritage Harry’ looking on. After morning tea we split into3 groups to enjoy a tour of the house learning about its history. The tours were conducted by the Friends of Pattemore House volunteers and they did an excellent job. We also learnt about the gardens and enjoyed seeing many photos and other by- gone artefacts of the house. We even learnt how one of our members, Les Dickens’ family built the house and ran the dairy for many years. After a lovely meal at the Maleny Hotel we enjoyed a walk down the main street of Maleny enjoying some coffee or even looking in the art galleries and other shops.
