Toowoomba Trip to see the flowers

25 of us left at 8AM to head up to Toowoomba and the weather was good as the strong winds had eased off. Unfortunately we had 3 cancellations on the Thursday before we left, but the rest of us had a great time. Stopped for a lovely morning tea at Kholo Botanic Gardens just off the Warrego Highway on the outskirts of Ipswich.

Once we reach Toowoomba we first drove through Picnic Point then past a couple of winning homes on our way to the Japanese Gardens at USQ where we stopped for 30 minutes to have a walk through.

After driving past another winning garden we stopped at the beautiful Laurel Bank Park for another walk around. These were fantastic and included Australian themed gardens which had outback scene, animals and birds as a floral tribute.

Back onto the bus out to our lunch break at Blue Mountain Hotel on the northern outskirts of the city with a great view down over the valley. Here we enjoyed a lovely 2 course lunch and a cold drink.

After lunch we headed further out to Highfields to see 2 more winning homes including first place in the acreage category which had a beautiful waterfall in its garden. Then back into town to Queens Park for another walk through the very nice gardens and trees.

Left Queens Park around 4:30 PM for our trip back arriving in Redcliffe at 7PM. We came back through the city over the Storey Bridge and saw the lights of the city which was very nice as there were traffic problems on the Centenary Highway. It was a long day but a very enjoyable day and everyone had a great trip.
