GLINK TRAM TRIP
Under a clear and sunny sky, 39 of us headed down to the Gold Coast on Friday 18th May. After a good run down the M1 we turned off at Hope Island exit and had a lovely morning tea looking out over the river at Jabiru Island Park. After morning tea we wound our way around the northern end of the GC and made our way to Helensvale Station to board the GLink tram for our trip down to Broadbeach. It was a very interesting trip on the tram, seeing where the athletes stayed during the Commonwealth games and then down through the streets of Southport, Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach.
Back on the bus at Broadbeach South to travel down to North Burleigh Surf Life Saving Club and we even managed to not leave anyone behind on the tram.
We had a nice lunch overlooking the water even though it was a bit tight getting in and out of the tables. Hopped back on the bus around 2:30 and headed home with a stop at the Yatala Pie Shop on the way. Usually Friday afternoon traffic meant we did not get back to Redcliffe till around 5:15 but a great day was had by all.
