Christmas in July Lunch Trip
We had a full coach of 47 members heading off on a beautiful winters morning going to Toogoolawah. We stopped at Yowie Park in Kilcoy on the way for a very nice morning tea and a chance to stretch the legs and a couple of people checked out the local craft shop.
Back on the coach and we had a nice drive around down past Somerset Dam and the top end of Wivenhoe and back up to Toogoolawah. On the outskirts of town we stopped in for a short visit at Somerset Regional Art Gallery and Museum – The Condensery before lunch. This is housed in the old condenser where they made condensed milk back in the early 1900’s. Then onto Toogoolawah Hotel for a great Christmas in July themed lunch. They had nice Christmas decorations on all the tables for us and served up a lovely 2 course lunch which most people could not finish as the meal was large. We had a large Christmas hamper as well as a number of other small prizes for our raffle and made $142. Special thanks to Jackie for organising the hamper and all the little Christmas gifts for everybody and to Barb for making some of the gifts. Back on the coach for some more back road scenery on our return trip arriving back in Redcliffe just after 4PM. Great day had by all.
