Our Bus Trips in August and September

Currently we are booked to do a bus trip to Rudd’s Pub on Friday 14 August. Please note for this month only this is on the second Friday of the month not our normal third Friday.

Due to the current situation with Covid these arrangements could all change at a moment’s notice.

It will be an 8:15 AM (be there at 8am) start from Captain Cook park opposite the Redcliffe Police Station with possible pickups at Margate and Clontarf. Cost is $60 PP.

We will enjoy a scenic drive through the Gatton area, known as the salad bowl of South East Queensland. Travel via Ma Ma Creek before arriving at the tiny hamlet of Nobby. Step back in time with a hearty country lunch at Rudd’s Pub. Folklore says that Steel Rudd sat in front of the fireplace in the Heritage Lounge writing his famous "Dad and Dave" stories. Learn about Sister Elizabeth Kenny who was known for her alternative approach to Polio treatment before heading home. Morning tea and lunch are included in the trip.

I am only taking 42 people, so if you are interested, please reply email with name and pick up place. You can pay at the BBQ on the 7th August or online via by electronic funds transfer. I can provide you with the club’s bank details. Other arrangements can be made if needed and I will require payment before we travel.

Also, we are booked to do a bus trip ‘Country Gardens at the Carnival’ around Toowoomba on Friday 18 September. It will be an 8 AM start from Captain Cook park opposite the Redcliffe Police Stations with possible pickups at Margate and Clontarf. Cost is $60 PP.

Travel to the outskirts of town to see some of the entrants of the large country gardens section of the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers. The passion and commitment of the owners is sure to impress. Also visit the beautiful Spring Bluff Railway Station. Morning tea and lunch included in the trip.
