June Bus Trip to Awassi Cheesery
Set off on Friday to Woop Woop. That's the place that is out in the wilds of the country. Grantham actually, and in a lovely valley with avocado and mango trees around and all these cute sheep. Long legs, not covered in fleece as they come from a desert region in Islamabad. Fat tails that do not get cropped or anything else horrible done to their nether regions. Love the heat and give very rich milk which is then made into a variety of cheeses, yoghurts and ice cream. Had a cheese board with many varieties, plus the fig & ginger jam which proved very popular. Lunch was a salad with frittata, olives, etc, and yummy bread. Quite different to the usual fare. Bonus was the ice cream of many varieties including a wicked one called licorice. Host & hostess were very informative and much fun. The trip home was exhausting (traffic wise), but all in all, another good trip.
