Trip to Margaret Olley Art Centre
We had an early start to our bus trip this month, leaving Redcliffe at 7-30am. Stopping at Nerang at a convenient park on the banks of the river with tables to sit at for morning tea.
Then heading off to Murwillumbah to the Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre. We had a nice sunny day until we hit the NSW boarder when it started to rain but did not affect us getting on and off the coach. This is an excellent showing of her paintings, and her works of art and also shows how her little cottage in Sydney was set out, very crowded. There is also a valuable painting by Monet, the French painter, on display for the next two years. Very impressive.
Next stop was Murwillumbah RSL for a very nice lunch before heading home.
After lunch we had a quick drive around the town before hitting the traffic on the M1 near Palm Beach and again at Nudgee but it was a great day, although a long one.
