Trip to Pattemore House Maleny
On a nice day we headed off on our trip arriving at Pattemore House where we enjoyed a lovely morning tea on the verandah of the house. The friendly carpet snake did not make an appearance this time around. Penny, one of the Friends of Pattemore House that looks after it on behalf of the local council gave us a talk on the origins of the house and the families that called it home over the years. We then did a tour of the house and grounds. I gave our members two tasks, one, find my mum and dad’s wedding photo taken at the house and what was my connection to the house. It was built by my grandfather and his 3 brothers back in 1907 for their parents, my great grand parents. After we finished the tour, we had a drive around Maleny and the surrounding area with a stop at Mary Cairncross Park for a look across to the Glasshouse mountains. Then onto the Maleny Hotel where we enjoyed a lovely two course lunch. Your tour guide Les
